Oh, we have a word for us all at this time. It is hold fast– persevere. Don’t give up. Put on the whole armour of God–use every weapon He has given us–use every gift at our disposal and look ahead with joy, because we are going to be crowned by Him Who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
For the whole Christian armor is faith: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience, all the unseen. And we as Christians, we do not look at what we see; we look at what we believe.
Every person in here can live above sin, can live without sin, live in God; you’ll make mistakes, but the Blood of Christ will forgive you. “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
So friends, find Divine love and favor with God. Then God, if He finds favor with you, will give His gifts into you. But first, find the Giver. Seek the Giver, then the gifts will come as God sees fit to give it to you.
Now, where is your treasure, anyhow? Is it in your church? Is it in your business? Or, is it in Heaven? “For wherever your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” So why not make an investment this morning, of Life? Your business will go to ashes someday.
Not because you can argue your religious standpoint, that doesn’t mean it. It’s your life that proves what you are.
And you know, it’s usually when we’re thinking about God and keeping our minds on God, that God comes close to us. I think that’s one of the great troubles of the people of this day. We have too many other things on our mind.
You’ve got to die to every thought of the flesh so that you can receive the mind of Christ and walk from henceforth, not of your own, but of His mind: the mind of Christ in you. That’s the only way you can stay alive.
And let me say this, there’s nothing that will satisfy it but God. You can do what you want to, drink yourself crazy, but you’ll never be satisfied until Christ takes His place in the human heart.
That’s what the devil likes to work on you and oppress you. You know, that’s a trick of the devil to oppress. But when the Christian knows his legal rights (Amen.), when you can quote God’s Word, “I’ll never leave thee nor forsake thee,” that takes all the oppression away. And the clouds begin to clear back.
